Do Not Be Proud Of Being A 'god'

Dear people of God, I have come across some preachings where the term 'god' is used to boost up the self confidence of people, where they say '' you are 'gods,' you are no ordinary persons, you don't have to make yourself low when you go into God's presence, you are gods, so go with boldness...''

I have no clue what the intentions of such preachers are, but all I, as a listener, felt it was not sending a right message across.

I felt it will only harm people, than doing good, because scriptures clearly tell us that we are nobody without Jesus, and we need to imitate Chirst like humility.

As I was praying about this, the Spirit of God showed me this following Scripture, which speaks about those hearts that get proud, thinking they are gods.

As we read this, may the Spirit of God convict us, if we have been involving ourselves in any such arrogant approach, and help us to confess before the Throne of Grace.

'' Ezekiel 28:2 -10

'' In the pride of your heart you say, '' I am a god; I sit on the throne of a god, in the heart of the seas.''

But you are a man and not a god, though you think you are as wise as a god.

Are you wiser than Daniel?
Is no secret hidden from you?

By your wisdom and understanding you have gained wealth for yourself and amassed gold and silver in your treasuries.

By your great skill in trading , you have increased in your wealth,and because of your wealth your heart has grown as proud.

'' Therefore this is what the Lord says:

'' 'Because you think you are wise, as wise as a god,
I am going to bring foreigners against you,

the most ruthless of nations, they will draw their swords against your beauty and wisdom and pierce your shining splendor.

They will bring you down to pit and you will die a violent death in the heart of the seas.
Will you then say, ''I am a god,'' in the presence of those who kill you?
You will be but a man, not a god, in the hands of those who slay you.
You will die the death of the uncircumsised at the hands of foreigners.
I have spoken, declares the sovereign Lord.' ''

May the blood of the Lamb of God, cleanse us and heal us of all pride and arrogance, and grant us Christ's humility when we go into His Majesty's Presence.
