Friendship With The World Is Hatred Toward God

'' Luke 13 : 23 - 27 '' Someone asked him, '' Lord , are only a few people going to be saved ' '' He said to them, '' Make every effort to enter through the narrow door, because many , I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able to. Once the owner of the house gets up and closes the door, you will stand outside knocking and pleading , ' Sir, open the door for us. ' '' But he will answer, ' I don't know you or where you come from.' '' Then you will say, ' We ate and drank with you, and you taught in our streets. '
'' But he will reply ' I don't know you or where you come from. Away from me, all you evildoers !' ''

'' We ate and drank with you, and you taught in our streets '':

These people who proclaim to know Jesus, say that Jesus came to their streets and taught them.

'Streets' here means 'paths' or 'ways'.

'Teaching in our street' means, teaching in their 'ways' - the 'ways' they wanted / 'paths' they wanted to take.

But the word of God clearly says : '' John 14 : 6 Jesus answered, '' I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.''

'' Philippians 2 : 12, 13 continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling for it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose.

Now question : Will then the Son of God come to our ways and teach us in the ways we want and to accomplish our purposes?

Then who is this who has come into their paths and teaching to do what they wanted to do?

Isn't this the enemy in disguise, wearing the mask of Jesus, coming into our lives and engaging us with its teaching so that we linger in there accomplishing our desires ?

When this 'jesus' was with them all these people proclaim they did with him was eating and drinking.

Meaning, satisfying their souls.

Now question : Satisfying the souls comes from above or comes from the world ?

'' John 3 : 5 Jesus answered, '' I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit. Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit.'' ''

Kingdom of God can be entered only when when one is born of the Spirit ( and water ).
But eating and drinking doesn't come from the Spirit. It comes from the soul.

Meaning, of the world.

And if someone is satisfiying the souls, then he is someone who belongs to the world.

But Jesus clearly said He is from above and He never said He will eat and drink along with us in the way we desire, but declared He is the bread of heaven that we must eat:

'' John 8 : 23 You are from below; I am from above. You are of this world; I am not of this world. ''

'' John 6 : 33 For the bread of God is he who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world. ''

'' John 6 : 35 then Jesus declared, '' I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty. ''

If we are born of the Spirit, and want to be a part of the kingdom of God, then we need to go to Jesus because He is the bread of life.

'' John 7 : 37 On the last and greatest day of the Feast, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, '' If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink. ''

Jesus here declared that if anyone of us is thirsty, we must GO to him.

Now question: Will then Jesus come to our ways and engage himself satisfying the desires of our souls ?

Then who is this coming to our streets and eating and drinking with us, keeping our souls in merry ?

Isn't this the enemy engaging us by satisfying our soul's desires, wearing the mask of Jesus, so that we don't think of the real bread that gives life eternal?

'' James 4: 4 You adulterous people, don't you know that friendship with the world is hatred toward God? Anyone who choses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God. ''

So, if we chose to be a friend of the world, busily accomplishing every desire of our souls, then what are becoming?? - Enemies of God !

'' Luke 2 : 52 And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and men.''

How did Jesus grow ? He did not grow satisfying his soul's desires, but he grew in wisdom and reputation, in favour with God and men.

Then, are we not supposed to be like Jesus, if we call ourselves sons and daughters of God ?
When Jesus speaks, He speaks to show the way to eternal life :

'' John 12 : 49, 50 For I did not speak of my own accord, but the Father who sent me commanded me what to say and how to say it. I know that his command leads to eternal life. So whatever I say is just what the Father has told me to say. ''

Dear people, the way to the kingdom of God is Jesus. And Jesus is THE TRUTH.

Do not disown the Truth just because some alien is coming into your streets in the disguise of Jesus, and satisfying your souls with material things of the world, and promising to make you prosperous in the world and teaching you doctrines how to satisfy your soul's desires.

'' James 3: 14 -18 But if you harbor bitter envy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast about it or deny the truth. Such 'wisdom' does not come down from heaven but is earthly, unspiritual, of the devil. For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice. But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. Peacemakers who sow in peace raise a harvest of righteousness. ''

'' Luke 12 : 8,9 '' I tell you, whoever acknowledges me before men, the Son of Man will also acknowledge him before the angels of God. But he who disowns me before men will be disowned before the angels of God. '' ''

'' Romans 11 : 33 - 36
Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God !
How unsearchable his judgments, and his paths beyond tracing out !
'' Who has known the mind of the Lord ?
Or who has been his counselor ? ''
'' Who has ever given to God, that God should repay him ? ''
For from him and through him and to him are all things.
To him be the glory forever !
